VAT returns are the major reason you will want to keep on top of your bookkeeping. There are many other benefits in keeping the bookkeeping up-to-date. With up-to-date and accurate bookkeeping, reliable reports can be produced to help you chase money due to you and decide which suppliers to pay.
Accurate bookkeeping forms the basis for good quality accounts. The better the quality of your book-keeping the lower fees for tax will be. I can dovetail my work with that of your accountant, or if I am doing your tax work, my work on book-keeping will help keep my charges for tax work down.
Bookkeeping is done either monthly or quarterly. You can send me your paperwork via the Royal Mail next day guaranteed delivery service, and electronically, or by hand. The data is entered to Sage Line 50 in my office. Paperwork is returned to you by post.
Once the data has been entered to Sage, a backup can be emailed to you with whatever reports you need, including VAT returns. If you don't have Sage installed in your office, pdf files can be sent instead. I can send the VAT return online to HMRC on your behalf.
You might like to use Sage for producing sales invoices and controlling stock but want me to do the main bookkeeping. In this situation we set up a separate Sage directory for the bookkeeping, and you continue with the invoicing and stock control. You will have a backup of Sage from me to store in your bookkeeping directory.
At the end of your company's financial year, I will prepare draft financial accounts and we can discuss them to ensure you understand what they mean. After adjustments I will use your Sage data and other working sheets to prepare final accounts and tax returns, or if you already use an accountant for this, the data will be sent to them.
VAT and PAYE rules are getting ever more complicated. Penalties are now unreasonably high. My job is to help you comply with the many rules and regulations. This enables reliable VAT returns to be prepared and good quality information to be produced for accounting purposes.
At a certain volume of work it is more efficient to ask me to do your bookkeeping than for you to employ a junior member of staff to do this. I have the knowledge, experience and speed to enable the right information to be produced quickly and in a cost-effective manner.
If your company grows to the level where you feel it is worth employing a book-keeper in-house, I can help you select people to interview, train them up and monitor their work for you.
The service is tailored to suit your requirements. Good quality reports will enable you to manage cash flow better, keep your accountancy costs down and save you all the hassle of doing it yourself.
You can contact me easily by phone or email, as I am usually in my office. Call Frances today on 01737 559211 to discuss how you can save money and time.
